AIM (formally known as OCN) LEVEL 3
DIPLOMA
The AIM Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming was launched in January 2017. This new qualification was introduced to be an alternative route from the City & Guilds. This qualification is the same level as the full Level 3 Diploma by City & Guilds. Both the City & Guilds Diploma and the new Diploma are both regulated by Ofqual and are both the only two qualifications on the National Educational Framework.
What we like about the AIM Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming:
Firstly, there is no need to complete a lower level qualification first, for example the C&G L2 or the C&G L3 Introductory qualification. You can go straight on to complete the Level 3 Diploma.
Secondly, there are no formal exams or assignments. Rather than sitting exams, which can be extremely daunting, the AIM route will provide you with worksheets for each module. These questions will be answered in your own time and at your own pace. With full support from your assessor.

HAND STRIPPING
ACCREDITATION
This brand new handstripping accreditation is a great accolade for anyone looking to prove their skills in handstripping and receive a formal certificate from a National Awarding Organisation. This course is accredited at Level 3 and on completion you will recieve an AIM.
Written and presented by myself, this seminar will take you through the theory of wire coated handstripping. From the basics of coat growth all the way to the technique itself. We will discuss factors that affect handstripping, carding, rolling, equpment, after stripping care and the subject that has everybody talking – post grooming furunculousus.
The afternoon gives you the chance to handstrip a wire coated dog of your choice. The afternoon will give you the opportunity to certify through the Open College Network by being assessed on the day.
The cost of this accreditation when completed at a group seminar is £199. This includes your course enrolment fee. This course is also available privately or corporately. Please email for more details.

ALREADY A GROOMER?
If you are currently grooming but have no formal qualifications, have a level 2 qualification, or are wishing to take an alternative route, we can recognise your prior learning at enrol you for the exams without attending a full course.
Once you have enrolled on the qualification, we can arrange a mutually convenient date in which we can either travel to your salon or you can come to one of our teaching centres. We will bring your course folder and talk you through the qualification and the worksheets for each module. On this day we will then assess you on three of your 15 styles. These can be any three dog breeds that you chose. Please make sure these dogs are thoroughly bathed and dried and all prep work is completed before the assessment. Once you have completed your initial day with me, we can start to build a portfolio of the remaining grooms that you have completed in your salon. Evidence is required in the form of photographs and videos. You have an unlimited amount of time to do this.
The final unit of the qualification is to complete one of our accredited first aid courses. These are held at venues around the country or you can come to us to complete this. We feel every groomer should complete an accredited first aid course, so this is something we hold separately also.
This course will include a full course pack, all of your assessment fees, and a day with you in person to take you through the qualification and assess your three breeds, full support from us as you go through the qualification, your AIM 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming certificate.
